Our Life

Dynamic Orthodoxy

We seek to worship God correctly—and this is what “orthodoxy” actually means. The Latin axiom, “Lex orandi, lex credendi” (the law of prayer [worship] is the law of belief) assures us that proper worship of God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit and our growth in love of Him in full communion with His Church should be the foundation of our lives as Catholics—expressed in our daily participation in the Divine Liturgy of the Church: the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, attentive participation in the Liturgy of the Hours, Eucharistic Adoration, and the development within each of us of “unceasing prayer” as the great Apostle Paul encourages us. Without correct worship of God, our formation as Catholics and Christians will become distorted.

We use the term “dynamic” to indicate our desire to immerse ourselves in the living, flowing stream of Sacred Tradition (the life of the Holy Spirit in the Church). The fact that our Brotherhood was founded during the acclaimed Pontificate of our beloved Holy Father of blessed memory, Saint John Paul II, and is now blessed to participate in the proper and full implementation of the prescriptions of Vatican II under the guidance of the Holy Spirit by His Holiness, Pope Francis, is a point of great excitement and joy for us. Even at 2,000 years of age, the Catholic Church is young, as Pope Benedict has said—a living, dynamic presence of transfiguration in our fallen world.

Prayer from our Way of Life

We believe that Our Lord has called us to live a life of prayer; we strive together for personal and communal holiness through our shared prayer life. Our desire is to cultivate a spirit of praise and thanksgiving, singing gratefully to God from our hearts in psalms, hymns and inspired songs.

We will seek the Lord with all our strength. We desire that each brother put his whole heart, mind and spirit into our communal and personal prayer lives. “When you seek Me you shall find Me, when you seek Me with your whole heart.”

We are a Eucharistic community, so we center our lives around the Eucharist. Since Jesus is the Bread of Life, we attend daily Mass to be nourished at the Lord’s Altar and thus to be united with our Catholic brothers and sisters. We adore and honor Jesus, present in the Eucharist, as the Living Center of our community during Mass and daily Eucharistic Adoration. We pray together the Liturgy of the Hours on a daily basis.

We commit ourselves to the praying and study of Sacred Scripture. We study and learn the doctrinal teachings of the Catholic Church. The Church is our Mother, and we feel called to renew ourselves so we can call others to closer union with God and His Church.

We will strive to live a life of utter dependence on God our Father. We realize that we can be successful only by listening to and following His Holy Will as given to us by the Holy Spirit through the Church and our religious superiors. We must remember that prayer is more powerful than anything we can achieve through our own actions.

We will strive to have a fervent devotion to the Mother of God, the Blessed Virgin Mary, especially under the title of “Queen of Peace.” We ask for her intercession, so that we may experience the peace of Christ in our hearts and be peace-makers in a world filled with violence and injustice.
